Course Schedule 课程大纲
This course aims to assist students to obtain an IELTS
score of 5.5 in the shortest time possible. Students who
finish all levels from the English for Foreigners course
can proceed to this course. Students will be given a free
placement test and placed into the relevant levels.
IELTS is designed to assess the language ability of candidates
who need to study or work where English is used as the language
of communication. IELTS covers all 4 language skills: Listening,
Reading, Writing and Speaking. The IELTS Academic exam score
is for students who plan to undertake higher education study.
IELTS is recognized by universities, professional and educational
bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies
in many countries including Australia, Canada, Ireland,
New Zealand, UK and USA.
IELTS Level 1 - 3
At this level, students’ ability in English should be of
a high standard, but more important is their attitude towards
using English. This Advanced level covers grammatical aspects,
which have already been studied, as well as introducing
new elements such as Idioms and Phrasal Verbs. However,
emphasis is placed on developing the students’ approach
to and confidence in using English. Therefore, there are
a lot of exercises based on academic type reading and writing,
as well as many topics for discussion and debate. On completion,
students should have a general understanding of what is
expected of them (skills and social) in academic study/life
in a native speaking institution/country.
IELTS Level 4 – 6
For a student studying English as a foreign language, completing
IELTS (with a Band Score of 5 or higher) is academic proof
of their ability in using English. IELTS introduces and
tests students’ Academic English skills in Listening, Reading,
Writing and Speaking. Students will be prepared to confidently
sit for IELTS with emphasis on the revision of concepts
learned and special attention given to developing examination
skills.
Entry requirements:
Students will take a placement test to determine their standard
of English before being placed in the correct class
