| Sam
Kiang School was formerly known as Sam Kiang Public School.
It was first established in the year around 1930 and owned
by the Singapore Sam Kiang Huay Kwan (the Clan). During the
World War II Japanese invasion time, Sam Kiang Public School
ceased its operation. It resumed the operation after the War.
In the year 1956, there were 9 working staffs in the School
and there were about 345 students. In 1971, Sam Kiang Public
School stopped again due to the social environmental factor
and the rebuilding of the premises. Besides subsidies from
the Government. Sam Kiang Huay Kwan provided thousands of
dollars to Sam Kiang School each year for students’ scholarships
and bursaries. The teaching quality of Sam Kiang Public School
was very professional and the School had groomed famous figure
like lawyer, Mr. Lee Bon Leong, the Notary Public, PBM, JP.
On the 12th of May, 2004, during the “Dialogue between
Singapore Government Chinese Society Communication Group
and Sam Kiang Huay Kwan” session, Mr. Lee Peng Shu, the
chairman of Sam Kiang Huay Kwan announced the resuming of
the new Sam Kiang School under the original educational
belief of Sam Kiang Huay Kwan. Mr. Chan Soo Sen, the Minister
of State for Education and Community Development & Sports
and Mr. Wang Kai Yuen, the Member of Parliament was witnessing
the occasion.
On the 1st of July, 2004, Sam Kiang School was officially
established. Our objectives are to cultivate students’ desire
in knowledge pursuance, the responsible for society, the
confidence in themselves and the love in livings.
Although Sam Kiang School was shortly re-established, with
the good reputation of the School, dedication and devoting
attitude of the teachers and the proven academic results,
Sam Kiang School has attracted peoples from all walks of
life at all ages. Our students
come from China, Taiwan, America, England, Philipine and
Indonesia, …etc. There are also management staffs from multinational
companies like Japan Fuji Xerox, Germany BMW and Korea Doosan
Electronic, … etc. We also help to arrange the education
officials from China and local Government Colleges with
Sam Kiang School to have the interaction in learning. This
helps to enhance international education profile and cultural
exchanges.
三江学校的前身是三江公学，由三江会馆兴办。三江公学初建于1930左右；日本占领新加坡期间，三江公学停办，战后恢复；1956年，教职员工增至9人，学生增至345余人；1971年，三江学校因社会环境改变及会所改建等原因停办。除政府津贴，三江会馆每年为三江公学拨款数千元，每年为学生提供助、奖学金。三江学校教学水平相当高，培养了如“太平局绅”李文龙大律师等杰出人才。
2004年5月12日，在“政府华社联络组与三江会馆对话会”上，三江会馆会长李秉萱先生宣布秉承以往三江会馆办学的精神，新的三江学校即将成立，新加坡教育部兼社区发展及体育部部长曾士生先生、国会议员王家园先生等见证。
2004年7月1日，三江学校正式挂牌成立。我们的宗旨是培养学生对知识的追求欲，对社会的责任感，对自己的信心和对生命的热爱。
三江学校虽然复校时间短，但凭着良好的信誉、教师的敬业精神以及实在的成绩，吸引了四面八方的各年龄层的学员。我们的学生来自中国大陆和台湾、美国、英国、菲律宾、印尼等；公司客户包括：日本富士施乐、德国BMW、韩国斗山电子等。我们也安排了外国的教育界人士同本地政府学院及三江学校本身师生的交流学习，促进国际教育、文化交流。
